CULTURAL ORGANIZATION PERCEPTIONS OF THE EMPLOYEES WHO WORK IN IZMIR YOUTH AND SPORTS PROVİNCİAL DİRECTORATE

Abstract


This research was done in order to  show  the employees’ perceptions about organizatıon culture of institution at  which they work  and submit  proposals  in developing organizational culture. Within the framework of this purpose data was gathered with the “İnstitutional Culture Test” and it was applied to 62 employees and semi-structured interviewing technique was applied 9 people working in different branches of the administration department of Izmir Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate. The sub dimensions of socialization and, co-operation of organizations were majored on in the study. The collected data was analyzed according to descriptive and content analysis method. In the study, it was revealed that Izmir Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate is a kind of fragmented organizational culture which is a type of Goffee and Jones' cultural model and findings indicate that the organization has low-medium solidarity and low-medium socialization. In the study, it was revealed that Izmir Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate is a kind of fragmented organizational culture which is a type of organization culture and findings indicate that the organization has low-medium solidarity and low-medium socialization.  These findings were supported by interviewing method which is one of the qualitative reserach techniques. The data that  was obtained from research shows that we a strong organizational culture can not be  mentıoned among staff of  İzmir  Youth And Sports Provincial Directorate. Generally, negative thoughts about the  issues such as socialization, co-operation  were dominant after the negotiations.
